Eastmark High (in Mesa) hosted a student-led event called Flying with the Firebirds to help sixth graders prepare for middle school.

The event was organized by Queen Creek Unified School District.

The Mayor’s Teen Advisory Committee will use part of a $5K donation to host another teen drive-in movie at Frontier Family Park; the Town Council accepted the donation (from Crown Castle in February).

Heat relief centers launched Friday as part of the 2026 Heat Relief Network offer cooling services; the Queen Creek Library serves as the town's designated cooling center and hydration station, with restrictions and safety campaigns continuing through summer.

Residents can access the facility and follow guidelines issued by the county.
