Queen Creek is accepting applications for its volunteer parks and recreation advisory board to help guide decisions for local parks and trails — six current members' terms expire in August and September.

Residents in Queen Creek oppose a proposed Circle K at the northwest corner of Ocotillo and Meridian roads in the Avalon Meridian Commercial Center.

Circle K's plans call for a 4,600 sqft canopy and a 5,200 sqft store on a 1.68-acre site while the town reviews the proposal.
