- ➤ East Valley Children's Theatre’s production of Alice in Wonderland opened on June 12 at Mesa Arts Center and will run until June 22—drawing on inspirations from Miyazaki and Jim Henson to offer a bold, modern twist on the classic tale with a cast of 39 local youth. Shows are scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m., with tickets priced at $24.25. Queen Creek Sun Times
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ SRP is offering two free shade trees to current electric customers who join a virtual workshop, have legal planting rights, and call 811 before planting, with choices including Palo Verde, Native Mesquite, Thornless Mesquite, Willow Acacia, Desert Willow, or Lilac Chaste (workshops are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, noon Thursday, July 24, and 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23).
