- ➤ Queen Creek is inviting local entertainment groups, vendors and parade participants to apply for its 2025-26 signature events. Founders’ Day will be held 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Frontier Family Park — QC Hometown Christmas will feature a tree lighting on Dec. 5 and a parade on Dec. 6, and Spring Into QC is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28 — offering various chances for community celebration. - ➤ The Queen Creek Family Resource Center held a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday at WonderWise Preschool on 21259 E. Ocotillo Road where Mayor Julia Wheatley and Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce staff attended. The center offers free parent and children learning activities and support for families with young children—funded by a $750,000 grant from First Things First with payments of $150,000 this year and $300,000 in 2026 and 2027. - ➤ Developers at the proposed townhome community at Sossaman and Rittenhouse roads will ask Queen Creek Town Council to allow rental-home properties — a request that could change the community's housing plan — and will present it at the upcoming meeting. Queen Creek Independent
