Queen Creek student Gideon Joffe placed third in the state round of the National Civics Bee on June 10 at Grand Canyon University after winning the regional competition hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, earning $250.
He studies at Payne Junior High in Chandler Unified School District.

Queen Creek residents now have Livewell Animal Hospital at 23021 E.
Riggs Road, Suite 100 for full-service pet care. Opened on June 15, the hospital will hold a ribbon-cutting celebration (10 to 11 a.m.) on Tuesday, June 30 with tours and giveaways.
