- ➤ A popular chicken chain will open its first Arizona restaurant on Wednesday at Queen Creek Vineyard Towne Center at 10 a.m. — located at 37756 N. Gantzel Road — and the locally owned restaurant by Brian and Jessica Nelson will offer daily service, while its official grand-opening celebration is set for Tuesday, Aug. 19 with free chicken for the first 100 guests plus other activities. The 3,000-square-foot venue will feature 56 dine-in seats, a dual drive-thru, curbside pickup and is expected to create up to 70 jobs. Queen Creek Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Standalone banks in Queen Creek no longer need conditional-use permits for drive-thru teller lanes — a change approved at the town council's Wednesday meeting — which will simplify operations for future banks. Queen Creek Independent
