- ➤ Queen Creek officials said the annual Founders’ Day wristband pre-sale will begin Monday, Aug. 18 at $12.50 per person through Sept. 12. The celebration is set for Saturday, Sept. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Frontier Family Park (20039 S. 220th St) with wristbands costing $15 on the day and available for pick-up at the Recreation Aquatic Center from Sept. 15 to Sept. 19. - ➤ The Valley hosts free ceramic bowl workshops every Friday, a play based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory until Aug.16, and an art and ice cream social on Aug.15. Other events include Drunk Shakespeare, a car show at Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers, and Queen Creek Restaurant Week from Aug.18 to 24 — offering fun ways to beat the August heat.
