The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to locate 16-year-old Sophia Spurlock, who was last seen leaving her Queen Creek home near Ellsworth Road and Cloud Road at around 5 p.m. Sept.
3 after texting her mother she would not return—she is Hispanic with brown hair and eyes, stands 5 feet tall, weighs 141 pounds, and has a history of running away; anyone with information should call MCSO at 602-876-1011 and reference report No. IR25022280.

The Queen Creek Town Council approved the annexation of over four acres of land at the southwest corner of Signal Butte and Riggs roads on Sept.
3 — paving the way for a planned new church. Mayor Julia Wheatley is on leave to care for her family — and the measure passed unanimously by the council shows strong local support.
Queen Creek Town Council approved a new 65-foot wireless communication tower at South Crismon and East Ocotillo roads that will work with three mobile carriers and is designed to resemble a tree.
The tower is located about 1,200 feet southeast of the intersection at the Ameripark RV Storage facility—more than 10 acres in size—and was approved by a 6-0 vote on Sept. 3 while Mayor Julia Wheatley took leave to focus on her family.
