Queen Creek’s American Legion Duane Ellsworth Post 129 donated 177 cases of bottled water to support Queen Creek Fire Medical Department’s annual water drive.

The donation helps reach the goal of 250 cases to provide relief during extreme summer heat.

Students from Queen Creek Unified School District gathered at Queen Creek High School for the annual Leading Out Loud Conference to learn leadership and teamwork skills — breakout sessions covered participatory budgeting, teamwork, and community service projects that built student confidence for future roles on their campuses.

Queen Creek Town Council has recommended liquor licenses for a Safeway and Your Pie Pizza—both businesses have applied to the state for permission.

The recommendations were sent to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for review.

Athletes and student leaders from over 20 high schools are part of Teen Lifeline’s Messages of Hope campaign — they recorded videos this summer to encourage peers during Teen Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and will show them on school social media pages this September.

The effort comes as youth mental health concerns rise and help is available through dedicated hotlines.
