- ➤ On Oct. 1, the Town Council voted 5-0 to accept $124,000 in state grants that the Queen Creek Police Department will use to boost DUI and speeding enforcement after stopping a driver going 93 mph on Meridian Road. Queen Creek Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Queen Creek Police Department will host a three-day Partners in Policing Academy from Oct. 23 to Oct. 25 at the Community Chambers/Law Enforcement Building—giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at police work from traffic units to SWAT—and the program will require participants to be 18 or older, attend all sessions and pass a background check with space limited to 25 spots.
